Engineering involves many disciplines, including process. As our process engineers are integrated in a common multi-disciples team under the responsibility of the Project Engineering Manage, this to allow to work closely. Process engineering involves translating the needs of the customer. Prior to construction, the design work of process engineering begins with a block diagram showing raw materials and the transformations (unit operations) desired.
The design work then progresses to a process flow diagram (PFD) where material flow paths, storage equipment (such as tanks and silos), transformations (such as distillation columns, receiver/head tanks, mixing, separations, pumping, etc.) and flowrates are specified, as well as a list of all pipes and conveyors and their contents, material properties such as density, viscosity, particle-size distribution, flowrates, pressures, temperatures, and materials of construction for the piping and unit operations.
The Process team has access to a number of in-house tools as well as specialist industry standard software. These tools assist with equipment sizing, capacity assessments and process simulation.
Our Process department is involved in all stages of a project from design up to commissioning whether it be:
Our process engineers come from diverse backgrounds (water treatment, petrochemical, oil & gas ...). This gives BLC-Technologies flexibility to operate in different sectors, while still pursuing operational excellence by achieving objectives in compliance with client and project requirements They are able to conduct such studies:
